About Us

Who we are

The Austral-Asian Community Church is the English Speaking congregation of the Austral-Asian Christian Church, which has been in operation for nearly 30 years. It was originally commenced by a group of people, who migrated from Malaysia and Singapore, along with some overseas students who were studying in Adelaide. In the beginning it was made up of a few groups that met in homes, but then developed into a bi-lingual church service. Over the years it has touched a number of different ethnic groups and during the period following the Vietnam war, was used by God to establish a congregation of Vietnamese people. In time they took control of their own worship and moved away.

Our congregation is primarily made up of people of Chinese background from Malaysia and Singapore, although we have people from around sixteen different nationalities worshipping on a Sunday morning.

Our church fits into the Protestant stream of church life, and is of the congregational government model. Doctrinally, we adhere to the Apostles’ Creed for our statement of faith. We baptise believers by immersion, dedicate infants of believing parents, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the last Sunday of each month.

When we meet

There are three Sunday services at 9:00am, 10:30am and 4:00pm. Our worship is informal and contemporary. Testimonies, skits and other presentations are also a regular part of our service. Our pastors and visiting speakers from other churches and organizations deliver God’s word in a practical, easy to understand and effective manner.

We also have a Children’s Church at 10:30am with a team of dedicated teachers for children aged 3-15.

We invite you to join us and look forward to catching up with you over a cup of tea or coffee or over lunch after our 10:30am service.
